Additional Details

  • Our wild-caught Swordfish arrives cut and trimmed for 100% yield with a sweet, mild flavor. The dark red section towards the center is known as the "bloodline," which has a slightly richer flavor.

  • Known as the 'Steak of the Sea,' Swordfish offers a rich, fatty texture.

  • The average serving size of Swordfish is one 8 oz fillet.

  • Each order is packed with dry ice so that it stays completely frozen while en route to your doorstep.

How To Prepare

  • To thaw, remove the fillet from its original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and thaw it in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours.

  • To expedite the thawing process, place the fish in a plastic bag and run it under cool water (never hot water). Learn more safe thawing tips here.

  • Swordfish can be cooked on the stovetop, baked, or grilled depending on your desired method. Aim for an internal temperature of 125° F for medium, and 145° for well done.

  • Note: Consuming raw or undercooked seafood may increase your risk of foodborne illness.

FAQs

FAQs

What is the flavor profile of Wild Swordfish?
+
-

Swordfish boasts a rich, meaty flavor with a dense texture and a fatty bite. It’s often referred to as the “steak of the sea!”

What is the dark red spot in my swordfish fillet? Can I eat it?
+
-

The red spot towards the center of a swordfish fillet is the bloodline, which is entirely safe to eat. However, it may have a more ocean-like taste than the rest of the fillet.

What’s the best way to cook Swordfish?
+
-

Swordfish is exceptionally dense and has a high-fat content, making it perfect for the grill! Remember that fish is more delicate than other types of protein, so we recommend creating as much of a non-stick surface as possible.

How long can I keep my Swordfish in the freezer?
+
-

All of our products will stay good in the freezer for several months. However, for the best taste and texture, we recommend enjoying them within 2-3 months.
