HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 3lb King Crab Legs
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2/3 cup beer
- Stainless Steel Seafood Shears
FOR THE SAUCE
- 1 cup frying oil
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp whole-grain mustard
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp hot sauce
- 1 tsp capers, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
LET’S GET COOKING!
- Start by cooking the king crab in boiling water for 5-8 minutes. Once cooked, remove the crab from the water and let it cool before removing the meat from the shells.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and beer. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to absorb the flavors. Then, toss the crab legs into the batter, ensuring they are well coated. Set the crab legs aside.
- Heat the frying oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the crab legs into the pan and fry them until they turn a beautiful golden brown color. This should take a few minutes on each side. Once fried, remove the crab legs from the pan and set them aside to cool.
- While the crab legs are cooling, prepare the sauce by combining the mayonnaise, whole grain mustard, lemon juice, hot sauce, capers, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Stir well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Dig in! Serve the crispy beer-battered king crab legs alongside the sauce and enjoy!
