Our favorite way to prepare shrimp? Peel n' eat, of course! It's quick, easy, and makes for the perfect snack any time of day. We lean on our friends at Auntie Nono's for an added punch whose seafood seasoning brings a sweet n' savory kick to the table. If you're new to the shrimp game or need a refresh - follow our step-by-step instructions to take your peel n' eat shrimp up a notch.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 1 large pot
- 2 cups of water
- 2 pounds of Oishii Shrimp
- Auntie Nono's Seafood Seasoning
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Boil the Shrimp
Add water to a large pot and bring to a boil. Add the shrimp and Auntie Nono's Seafood Seasoning (however much your heart desires), and cover the pot with a lid. Cook, occasionally stirring, for 4 to 5 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink. Once the shrimp are pink, remove the pot from the stove and strain using a colander.
Note - Add one cup of water for every one pound of shrimp to the pot when boiling.
Step 2: Prepare to Serve
Transfer the shrimp to a serving bowl or platter. Serve immediately and sprinkle the shrimp with additional Auntie Nono's Seafood Seasoning to eat them hot. To eat them chilled, refrigerate for about an hour and sprinkle with seasoning when you're ready to serve. Either way - don't forget to provide a discard bowl for the shells! (You can also serve extra seasoning in a ramekin for additional dunking.)
Step 3: Make the Sauce
No peel-n'-eat shrimp can be served without cocktail sauce, and our 5-minute recipe makes it that much easier! Just combine 1/2 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons horseradish, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1.5 tablespoons lemon juice, and your favorite hot sauce to taste.
